You can also saut\u00e9e the okra in a saucepan and, at the end of cooking, carefully crack some eggs over the saut\u00e9ed, cover the pan and cook over low heat until the egg whites begin to harden slightly.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingredient<\/strong>s<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 500 g okra<br>\u2022 1\/2 onion<br>\u2022 1 garlic clove<br>\u2022 3 tablespoons olive oil<br>\u2022 salt<br>\u2022 ground pepper or chilli pepper<br>\u2022 lemon juice<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preparation method<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-9a5dd1a2-199d-44a7-858e-59f2851baf14\"><li>Wash the okra and dry it well. Sprinkle with lemon juice, rub gently with your fingertips and set aside for 15minutes. It is the way to eliminate the okra slime factor.<\/li><li>Chop the onion and garlic and set aside.<\/li><li>Wash the okra under cold water to remove the lemon juice.<\/li><li>Slice off tops and ends of okra and discard. Cut the remainder into small chunks.<\/li><li>Saut\u00e9 the chopped onion and garlic in the olive oil.<\/li><li>Add the chopped okra, \u00bd cup water and season with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat and simmer covered until soft.
