The recipes below are just suggestions. The &#8220;farofa&#8221; is a wonderful preparation: one can prepare it with the ingredients you have available at home and it always turns out good!!<br>Someone is said to be &#8221; fazendo farofa&#8221; (making farofa) or to be a &#8220;farofeiro&#8221; (farofa maker) when he\/she spills a lot of food crumbs while eating, just &#8220;like a chicken&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><br>\u2022 150 g bacon cubes<br>\u2022 150 g butter, lard and oil<br>\u2022 1 onion chopped<br>\u2022 1 garlic clove chopped<br>\u2022 1 apple cubes or 1 banana cubes<br>\u2022 2 tablespoons chopped parsley<br>\u2022 500 g toasted manioc flour<br>\u2022 hard-boiled eggs into small pieces, optional<br>\u2022 olives chopped, optional<br>\u2022 salt e black pepper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preparation method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preparation of the &#8220;farofa&#8221;:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Saut\u00e9 the bacon cubes in oil, butter and lard.<\/li><li>Add the onion and garlic clove chopped, and saut\u00e9 for 1 minute.<\/li><li>Add the parsley and the chopped apple or banana and saut\u00e9 until everything is soft.<\/li><li>Season with salt and black pepper.<\/li><li>Add the toasted manioc flour a bit at a time, stir and just let it warm up.<\/li><li>Finally add olives and hard-boiled eggs cut into small pieces.<\/li><li>If it&#8217;s too dry add a little butter melted.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Farofa&#8221; version for the &#8220;feijoada&#8221;:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Saut\u00e9 2 chopped onions and 2 chopped garlic cloves in 100 g butter or lard.<\/li><li>Add a lot of chopped parsley and 500 g of \u201ctoasted manioc flour\u201d, stir and just let it warm up.<\/li><li>Adjust with salt and black pepper.<\/li><li>It should remain soft and dry.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Farofa&#8221;version to stuff poultry and Christmas turkey:<\/strong><br>Prepare the saut\u00e9 for &#8220;farofa&#8221; without the bacon and add the chicken or turkey liver and heart cut into a small pieces in the end, without over cooking them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A &#8220;sweet&#8221; version of &#8220;farofa&#8221;:<\/strong><br>Add to the saut\u00e9ed mixture of &#8220;farofa&#8221;, together with the apple, 100 g of raisins and prunes soaked in warm water, drained and cut into small pieces. Serve on the festive occasions like Christmas and New Year&#8217;s eve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Another &#8220;sweet&#8221; version of &#8220;farofa&#8221;:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Saut\u00e9 1 finely chopped onion in 100 g butter or lard.<\/li><li>Add a lot of chopped parsley and 100 g of raisins and prunes soaked in warm water, drained and cut into small pieces. Season with salt and pepper.<\/li><li>Finally add 4 hard-boiled yolks eggs passed through a sieve and 500 g of \u201ctoasted manioc flour\u201d.
