Traditionally is a fried croquette. This baked version &#8220;kibbeh&#8221; is easier to make than fried croquettes, lighter but still very tasty.<br>The &#8220;Syrian pepper&#8221; is the traditional combination of spices for kibbeh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><br>\u2022 500 g crushed bulgar wheat<br>\u2022 1 kg ground beef<br>\u2022 1 large onion grated<br>\u2022 1 level tablespoon salt<br>\u2022 Syrian pepper or black pepper<br>\u2022 mint leaves, optional<br>\u2022 corn oil and olive oil<br>For Syrian pepper:<br>\u2022 2 parts black pepper powder<br>\u2022 1 part cinnamon powder<br>\u2022 1 part cloves powder<br>\u2022 \u00bd part grated nutmeg<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preparation method<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Let soak the &#8220;crushed bulgar wheat&#8221; in a large bowl covered with cold water for about 2 hours, then drain, wrap it in a clean cloth and squeeze out all the water.<\/li><li>Mix the drained &#8220;crushed bulgar wheat&#8221; with grated onion, ground beef, salt and pepper. If you like add chopped fresh mint leaves.<\/li><li>Spread the dough onto a greased baking tray or baking sheet. Press firmly to make a compact layer about 1 cm thick.<\/li><li>With a knife divide the dough into squares.<\/li><li>Pour a little oil between the squares so, after baking, the meat is already portioned.<\/li><li>Bake in a preheated oven at 220\u00b0 C for around 35 minutes.<\/li><li>If you like garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve with lemon wedges.<\/li><li>Serve with green salad or boiled vegetables.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><br><em>Posted on: 11 November 2011<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO &#8220;Kibbeh&#8221; is an Arabic dish very popular in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq.
