Café bombom (Spanish Bombón Coffee)

Café bombom (Spanish Bombón Coffee)

It is a typical Spanish coffee originated in Valencia, a great idea to keep you warm in the winter. The café bombón – as it is called in Spanish – is always served in a glass cup, so the drinker can see the layers of condensed milk and coffee (the difference between the densities of the ingredients create distinct layers). Sometimes it is also served with Baileys, with or without the addition of sweetened condensed milk.
There are a lot of cold desserts inspired by this drink, in Brazil.

• strong coffee or espresso
• sweetened condensed milk

Preparation method

  1. Fill up a glass cup a little less than halfway with sweetened condensed milk.
  2. Slowly add the hot coffee, but don’t fill out the cup completely, to prevent coffee spilling over the saucer while stirring coffee with a spoon.

• Spoon milk foam on top and sprinkle with cocoa powder or cinnamon.
• Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cocoa powder or cinnamon.
