This is a great side dish for a lot of Brazilian recipes and also for “feijoada”. The contrast between the crisp crust on the outside and the soft and sweet banana inside – sweet as well as salty – is very popular in Brazil.
• 1 banana per person
• all-purpose flour
• bread crumbs
- Peel the bananas and cut each into 2 or 3 pieces (optional).
- Coat banana with all-purpose flour, dip in beaten eggs and coat with bread crumbs.
- Deep-fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
- Place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot.
